an Apple body shape!
Apple body shape? Excuse me M. Agatha but... what does it mean
to be an Apple body shape?
My beloved four readers,
Being an Apple Body Type definitely
means having a well-proportioned body with shoulders as wide as your
pelvis, beautiful legs, and beautiful breasts. But it also means having your central body - trunk, shoulders and abdomen - wider compared to the rest of the body.
The Apple Body Type will therefore tend to assume the
physical conformation where the shoulders and pelvis have an approximately equal width, but a barely existing,
if at all, waist. Also, the presence of a big belly due to the accumulation of fat in this zone will give her
the typical apple shape that resembles a circle.
One indicator of the apple shape is the presence of hateful little saddle bags of fat - love handles. They start from below the bust and
extend to the pelvis.
On the other hand, she has beautiful breasts, thin arms and slender legs. That is certainly not to be taken lightly!
And so, the Apple body type’s main objective is to balance the two sides of her body, creating the illusion
of a waist that, in reality, does not
exist, in order to obtain a look that resembles the hourglass shape. She has, however, a very large trunk.
IDENTIKIT
In order to analyze the generic description just given to
this type in depth, we should discern two Apple Body Type subcategories:
The Apple Body Type - Oval
and The Apple Body Type - Diamond
Fundamentally, these two types differ from each other when it
comes to one element: the stomach,
Apple Female Type / Oval has a deep and low stomach.
Apple Female Type / Diamond has a deep and high stomach.
* Meaning of deep: if we were to take a look at a profile view of an Apple Body Type, it would be wider than other body
shapes. Supposing it were a parallelepiped, it’s width would be more accentuated.
Now, let's try to identify the identikit of both Apple Body Type:
Apple Body Type - Oval:
● Shoulders: Drooping with the same pelvis width.
● Chest: wide
● Arms: relatively lean.
● Breasts: not too big.
● Love handles extending from under the breasts to the pelvis.
● Waist: nonexistent.
● Stomach: Deep and low.
● Belly: protuberant
● Hips: wide
● Bottom: abundant and flat
● Thighs: shapely.
● Legs: lean and slander.
Apple Body Type - Diamond:
● Shoulder: full and always as wide as hips.
● Chest: broad.
● Arms: relatively lean.
● Breasts: abundant.
● Love handles: extending from under the breasts to the pelvic bones.
● Waist: nonexistent.
● Stomach: deep and high.
● Belly: protuberant.
● Hips: tight (but with a trunk that is always wide)
● Bottom: not abundant and flat.
● Legs: lean and slender.
- If (she is) slim: She
will have shoulders the same size as her pelvis. But her nonexistent waist will
make the Apple female type resemble a rectangle from behind.
- If (she is) overweight: Fat will be accumulated only in the central part of her body - trunk and
abdomen. The bottom or legs however, will not accumulate fat and will remain relatively
lean.
● Like Strawberry female types, her hips will be tight, or like Hourglass female types, they will be wide.
YOU ARE AN APPLE BODY SHAPE IF:
When you put on weight, the fat - even just a few kilos - is accumulated all around
your waistline,
starting under the breasts and reaching the hips, creating
unsightly love handles and a protruding belly.
Only later will fat be accumulated
on the bottom and on the thighs.
At this point though, the belly will have expanded to the large-boned
chest, and will not be too voluminous as it will be more proportionate to the many excessive
kilos. Finally, the belly will not be protrude, it will merely be wide, slightly giving her the appearance of a pregnant woman.
THE STANDARD APPLE BODY TYPE:
There
are two Apple Female Type categories -
Diamond
and Oval
- that we will call Marianna and Milou. We will also consider them as
average type.
About
The Horizontal Body Type
(please, read the serial of posts that explain what that is)
- She is 64, 96 /66, 93 inches
tall.
- She has shoulders proportionate to the pelvis.
- Her chest size is:
38/40 if Apple Oval
...40 and over if
Apple Diamond
- Her breast cup is:
B...if Apple Oval
...C/D or more if Apple Diamond
- She has slight love handles, more or less marked (this also depends on her weight)
- She has a belly
- She has a large waist
- Her legs are:
A little refined if Apple Oval
...slander if Apple Diamond
- She wears
a bigger size for the:
Lower body, if
Apple Oval
...upper body, if Apple Diamond

The upper half
of the body - her bust - is
proportionate to her lower half – her legs.
EXAMPLES OF APPLE BODY TYPE
TIPS FOR CREATING A VISUAL BALANCE:
The central part of the body - the trunk - is generally the most problematic body part
for an Apple female type. She will therefore focus on de-emphasizing this part, avoiding any flashy apparels around the bust,
tummy and hips while shifting the focus towards other parts such as:
- The face: with
necklaces, earrings
- The shoulders: with
invisible straps, if necessary, in order to balance the body from both the front
and side
- The décolleté, choosing
V-necks or even madonna-necks/deep necks, because it makes the eye follow a
line from top to bottom instead of a line from side to side, therefore
accentuating the width of the trunk.
- The lower half side, towards the legs with straight or slightly flared skirts.
Do not underestimate:
- Good bras to support the
breast, lifting and modelling it.
- Spanx, especially those bandaging both belly and stomach.
What to avoid:
- Any exaggerated detail on the top, such as double-breasted jackets, cardigans, or revers that would increase
disproportion with the bottom, and consider, instead, a more essential style.
- Adherent or light textiles that hangs on to fat, mercilessly underlining it.
- Light colors or horizontal details around the waist.
- Shoulder bags.
- Belts, which would
underline the nonexistent waist instead of creating it.
- Voluminous sleeves that end next to the waist.
- Small shoes and/or thin
heels.
